We are living consciously and striving for community

Khepri is, most simply put, a gathering place for our neighbors.

We believe in the power of personal connection and in the value of a shared meal. Often, important relational work is done over lunch or a cup of coffee. We opened our doors in February 2020 and quickly, our beliefs and values were put to the test; thankfully we learned to trust the process and our product. Since those early days of the pandemic, we’ve grown and changed our shop, and our menu, and seen staff come and go, and the thing that remains constant—our neighbors—is what keeps us going.

Our menu is packed with healthy breakfast and lunch options to fuel your day. It's true that you are what you eat; at Khepri you are healing smoothies, thoughtful sandwiches, scrummy salads and bowls, and eye-opening coffees, with the option to add CBD to pretty much anything. And there’s something for your little ones, too! We source our breads from our favorite Chicago companies and make everything else ourselves from scratch.

Other than food, supporting local makers and artists is a great passion of ours. At our shop, you’ll find rotating local art displayed for purchase and shelves of locally or otherwise lovingly made gifts and treats. We occasionally host events to bring folks and their families in to share an evening together.

Khepri is the Egyptian god of renewal and rebirth. Our hope is that you feel renewed when you leave our shop because of the good food, the meaningful connection, or even just the greeting card you picked up for a friend. Stop in to say hello and grab a coffee.

We hope to see you soon,
